As the Super Bowl approaches, many football fans find themselves focusing on the future of one veteran star in the NFC North.

However, Aaron Rodgers isn’t the only veteran star in the division whose future seems kind of up in the air right now.

Adam Thielen is still supposed to be under contract with the Minnesota Vikings for 2 more seasons, but there has been speculation about whether or not the Vikings will move on from Thielen this offseason.

They can save over $6 million in cap space for next season if they cut Thielen before March 17th or save almost $20 million if they trade him.

Today he made an appearance on the Pat McAfee Show and was asked about his future. He revealed that one thing he knows for sure is that he won’t be going on a darkness retreat to help him make any decisions about his future.

Thielen was still a productive receiver this season, making 70 catches for 716 yards and 5 touchdowns, but that may not be enough for the Minnesota Vikings to decide to hold onto him at his current price.

If they do decide to move on from Theilen, he will definitely attract some suitors in free agency. There are plenty of teams around the league with needs at wide receiver who weren’t able to fill those needs at the trade deadline this year and there will likely be even more after teams make their cuts.

One of those teams who could use Thielen just so happens to be the Green Bay Packers, but it seems pretty unlikely he’d head to the Vikings’ NFC North rival.

Not only will he likely not be joining the Packers, it seems he also doesn’t take part in the same offseason rituals as the team’s starting quarterback.
