Broadcaster Bob Costas is receiving some criticism for his call in Game 2 of the Dodgers vs. Diamondbacks playoff series. The announcer was less than inspiring as Arizona recorded the final out to land its second win of the set.

Viewers were quick to respond to the uneventful commentating, posting replies on social media.

Costas has been at it for some time now, calling games across the MLB, NFL, and the Olympics over his lengthy career. While some consider him to be one of the greats, it seems many are ready to see him go in this year’s baseball postseason.

A number of fans were less than thrilled with his reaction to the end of the most recent Los Angeles vs. Arizona matchup.

The victory gave the Diamondbacks a 2-0 advantage in a series they weren’t expected to win. A moment that should’ve been exciting to those listening along on the Arizona side of things was anything but on the air.

It was almost as if that final out took the wind out of Costas’ sails. Viewers were quick to comment.

“This is actually a baseball broadcaster on national television for a postseason game. This is how he ‘unbiasedly’ called the Diamondbacks victory last night. Get Bob Costas off my TV screen.”

“The announcer could not be less excited that the D-backs are actually on the verge of upsetting the Dodgers by going up 2-0.”

“His Dodgers bias is showing.”

“Costas holding back tears.”

“What an ecstatic call there. Really gets me excited for the Diamondbacks.”

It’s not the first time the announcer has received criticism from the MLB crowd.

Costas will be back on the call for Game 3. We’d hate to hear his reaction be if the Dodgers get swept.
