The video game NBA 2K20, which is the most realistic hoops game out there, is just playing with our emotions at this point. After releasing a tease last week by announcing that this year’s version will include classic teams that, well, aren’t so classic — but super entertaining to play with, even if the squads aren’t all-time rosters — 2K Sports dropped a MyCareer trailer on us today that only gets us even more hyped about the September 6th release of the game.

Featuring a dramatic in-game story for the MyCareer mode — which follows a young star’s attempts to reach the NBA after quitting his college team in support of a teammate who got his scholarship stripped  — the NBA 2K20 trailer gives an in-depth look at what it’s really like to be bombarded by questions from media, coaches and team ownership. It’s as realistic as humanly possible, giving gamers the chance to really feel the tension of being a hopeful superstar in the league.

So how’d NBA 2K20 absolutely nail the storyline for this year’s MyCareer? Well, they called on LeBron James and Maverick Carter to produce the thing, which is probably why it’s so A+. Just take a look for yourself at the teaser that was released today and see why this year’s version is going to be so damn sick.

In addition to calling on James and Carter for their help with the MyCareer mode, NBA 2K20 also had the duo use their connections to feature a bunch of other talent in the trailer. Included in the in-game story are names like actress Rosario Dawson, actor Idris Elba, actor Thomas Middleditch, Lakers forward Anthony Davis, Celtics point guard Kemba Walker, Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban, and, naturally, a cameo from both LeBron and Maverick Carter.

With NBA 2K20 celebrating its 20th anniversary — with Dwyane Wade and Davis being featured as the cover athletes — the game developers really went above and beyond to make sure this year’s version is the best one yet. After watching the amount of details the team put into the game, we can only hope the gameplay lives up to all the hype.
