It’s been a weird few years for the Brooklyn Nets. After the super team completely fell apart, many went on to roast the organization.

Even so, interim head coach Jacque Vaughn has stepped up in a big way. The team is still in the heat of the playoff race at the All-Star break.

Although it’ll be difficult for the Nets to make the postseason, it sounds like the front office likes what they’re seeing from Vaughn.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski, Brooklyn has officially extended Jacque Vaughn to a long-term deal, making him the official head coach of the organization.

This is huge for Vaughn in general. Even though chaos has erupted around the Nets, he’s found a way to keep the team level-headed.

He’ll have a chance to build a roster from the ground up this time around, which could yield spectacular results down the road.

After trading both Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving, the Nets are officially rebuilding again. With Vaughn leading the way though, the organization is clearly hoping for a brighter future.

We’ll see how it plays out though. You’d have to think Jacque Vaughn’s job is safe this season no matter the outcome.

With that said, Nets fans are likely eager to see what transpires in the upcoming offseason. If Brooklyn can acquire some prospects with high potential, then things will finally be looking up for this franchise.
