A Nevada basketball player unintentionally recreated Nick Young’s viral missed three-point shot attempt by celebrating early in his season opener.

Jarod Lucas was the offender, as he was seen high fiving someone sitting in the front row of the crowd after believing he’d just hit a clutch jumper.

That shot clanked off the rim, however, resulting in an embarrassing scene for the veteran guard.

The attempt came with the Wolfpack leading Sacramento State by 13 points midway through the second half. Lucas received a pass in the corner near the baseline, heaving up an open three.

It must’ve felt good when it left his hand because he immediately turned his back to the basket, not actually seeing the shot go through the net.

Making things worse, he gave a fan sitting in the front row of the crowd a high five, believing he’d made the jumper.

He did not.

It was shades of Swaggy P, who famously went viral for a similar reaction while playing for the Lakers.

Luckily for Jarod Lucas, the missed shot wouldn’t come back to haunt his team. The Nevada basketball squad took down Sacramento State 77-63, improving to 1-0 on the year.

The guard finished the game with 18 points on 4-of-14 shooting. He also dished out four assists and brought down four boards in a productive season opener.

That being said, Lucas will probably watch the ball make its way through the rim before celebrating next time.
