With the college basketball season having come to an end on Monday, the sport’s transfer portal has already begun to reach its peak.

There are plenty of big names in the portal and some have already found new teams.

While most teams are focused on reshaping their rosters with players from the transfer portal, there are a few teams out there who are still hoping to land one of the top players in the 2023 recruiting class.

Oregon, USC, and Ohio State have all been waiting to see where Bronny James will land.

For a while now, Oregon has been believed to be the favorite to land the 5-star son of NBA superstar LeBron James.

Now it appears that has changed.

According to On3 Sports’ Prediction Machine, the USC Trojans are now the favorites to get a commitment from Bronny.

The Trojans are coming off of a solid season. They had the Pac-12’s 3rd best record and earned themselves a spot in the NCAA Tournament. They unfortunately just didn’t have enough offense against Michigan State and fell short by 10 points.

USC already has a pretty strong 2023 class. That class includes the top player in the Class of 2023, Isaiah Collier.

That signing was expected to have their backcourt a bit too crowded for Bronny, especially with another top 100 combo guard already signed for USC. However, one big piece of news after USC was eliminated from the tournament changed that.

Reese Dixon-Waters is in the transfer portal now, opening up a key role in the backcourt.

With this big change, maybe USC will now be able to get Bronny James to team up with Collier next season.

They’ll need to hope Bronny makes a decision soon so they know if they need to be aggressive in the transfer portal to get themselves a point guard.
