The New York Jets wrapped up a forgettable 2024 season on Sunday against the Miami Dolphins. A number of blunders were seen in that contest, providing a fitting end to the year.
Issues were seen even before kickoff as the field crew botched an attempt to run the team flag onto the field. Staffers unveiled the banner with the logo upside down for everyone to see.

Hilarity only grew when the matchup got underway. One offensive play went particularly viral involving quarterback Aaron Rodgers and wideout Davante Adams. The Jets tried to get tricky with a throwback pass. It failed miserably.
Rodgers snapped the ball, which he quickly gave to Adams on an end around. Then, the receiver threw a backwards pass back to his signal caller, who geared up for a downfield heave.
Unfortunately, the pass was covered up by the Miami secondary. That led Rodgers to go back to Adams in hopes of salvaging the play. It resulted in his pass catcher being leveled by a Dolphins defender.

Later in the contest, the FOX broadcast provided viewers with an unintentionally comical moment. During an on-field review, the theme song for Curb Your Enthusiasm was heard playing on the MetLife Stadium loudspeakers. Cameras quickly panned to a perplexed Aaron Rodgers sitting on the New York Jets bench. It was pure cinema!

Despite the mishaps, the Jets left with a win to improve to 5-12 on the season. With NFL Playoff hopes dashed, the franchise now has to figure out its plan for the future. Most notably, they’ll have to decide on sticking with Rodgers or going in another direction.
It was reported that teammate Garrett Wilson would consider a trade if the quarterback returned. The former first round pick had previously voiced frustrations with his usage in the offense with Rodgers at the helm.
The passer’s souring relationship with owner Woody Johnson could also play into that decision, as will the team’s lackluster performance on the field this season. Rodgers’ future with the New York Jets will be a major storyline in the offseason.
