The New York Mets are in 1st Place in the NL East and 1st Place in our hearts after they swooped in to help rescue a lost dog that was missing and scared in The Big Apple.
Mallory Edens is an heiress to the Milwaukee Bucks. Her dad is Wes Edens who is one of the team’s owners. She was in NYC over the holiday weekend and her beloved dog got lost within a mile of Citi Field in Queens. There are 8.4+ million NYC residents. Finding a lost dog in the city can be a daunting task.
That’s why the New York Mets social team swooped in to help her find her lost dog named ‘Prince’ and they later shared an adorable video of Mallory being reunited with her lost dog. Here’s how it all shook out over the span of a few tweets and 24 hours:

I think what I love the most about this story is the fact that she’s wealthy and related to important figures in the sports world really doesn’t matter much. The New York Mets would’ve likely sent out that tweet for anyone who lost their dog near Citi Field.
My Bernese Mountain Dog is absolutely terrified by fireworks and her whole body starts violently shaking. She’d never run away, she would run straight for us. But I have no doubt the Mets would help me or you or anyone find a lost dog if they thought they could help.
Any dog owner out there knows how a dog is a member of your family and not just a pet. Look at the true love between these two.

I’m only somewhat surprised that she was 205K followers on Instagram. Once I realized she’s a runway model who is able to travel the globe with ease I was much less shocked by her sizable following.
