I guess it’s just the popular thing to do now. Everybody wants to act like Carson Wentz is a terrible quarterback because the Indianapolis Colts lost a game to the Jacksonville Jaguars. I guess that’s all it takes these days to become the worst quarterback in the league.
At least, that’s what you’d have to believe about Wentz to make a statement like Rob Ninkovich made on “Get Up” today.
.@ninko50 says the Colts are just one QB away from the Super Bowl 😤

This is just an outlandish take. Not only would Jimmy Garoppolo not lead the Colts to the Super Bowl, I actually think they would be worse with him than with Wentz. How did anybody watch the last two 49ers postseason games and come away thinking “put that guy on the Colts and they win the Super Bowl”?
We’re talking about a guy who just put up 3 completions and an interception in the entire first half against the Packers. The idea that he’s that much better than Carson Wentz is flat out ridiculous.
The narrative on Carson Wentz this offseason has gotten so far out of hand. The guy threw for 3563 yards and 27 TDs this season with only 7 interceptions. That was in spite of a terrible group of tight ends, no true number 1 receiver, Zach Pascal as his number 2 receiver for much of the season, and o-line issues.
In 2 less games, Jimmy Garoppolo threw for 300 more yards, 7 less touchdowns, and 5 more picks while throwing to Deebo Samuel and George Kittle with one of the league’s best left tackles preventing.
Let’s stop pretending that Carson Wentz is some bum who can easily be replaced. If the Colts actually do trade or cut him this offseason, they’ll find out pretty quickly just how few available quarterbacks there are that are actually better than Wentz.
