Alabama head coach Nick Saban is getting the blame for Alabama’s final play call in their loss.

On Monday night at the Rose Bowl, the game between Michigan and Alabama came down to one final play, with the Crimson Tide down a touchdown on fourth down in overtime, needing three yards to tie the game.

After both Michigan and Alabama called a timeout, Bama decided to run a QB draw while in shotgun formation, which was immediately stopped by Michigan in the backfield.

College football fans ripped Saban for the play that ended Bama’s season.

Update: Nick Saban discussed the final playcall during his postgame press conference.

“Tommy (Rees) just felt that the best thing that we could do was have a quarterback run, which was kind of our two point play…but we didn’t get a block so it didn’t work”
