Notre Dame’s social media team dropped an incredible video this week of the team’s game-winning drive versus Duke. The footage not only shows what transpired on the field, but it takes viewers inside the huddle with in-game audio from the coaching staff.

Many around the college football world are now reacting to the clip as it makes its way around the internet.

The Irish traveled to Durham on Saturday to take on the 17th-ranked Duke Blue Devils. Notre Dame seemed to have control of the contest throughout, jumping out to a 13-0 lead early in the third quarter.

Duke stormed back with a pair of second half touchdowns to take a one-point lead late. Quarterback Sam Hartman then displayed his heroics on the final drive.

Taking over their own five-yard line, the Fighting Irish offense would fend off adversity to reach the endzone.

Notre Dame looked down and out a number of times on that series, most notably facing a 4th-and-16 around midfield. In that instance, Hartman was able to scramble for a first down to keep hope alive. Running back Aldric Estime scored two plays later to put the game away.

The incredible comeback kept the team’s College Football Playoff dreams alive as they moved to 5-1 on the season.

The drive itself was exciting enough, dropping the heartrates of Irish fans before eventual ecstasy. On Monday, Notre Dame’s social team provided another view of that game-winning march, posting in-game video that included calls and conversations from the coaching staff.

Not only can you hear the coaches going through the playbook, but you get a sense of everything going through the staff’s mind even before that game-winning score.

While driving down the field, they’re already thinking about potential two-point plays should they reach the endzone. There are also discussions of field goal range, time management, and utter shock that Hartman was able to convert that drive-saving first down.

The Notre Dame video has quickly gone viral, with many around college football reacting to the inside look.

“This is one of the best bits of content ND has ever put out. What an awesome peak under the hood,” said Mike Golic Jr.

Others agreed.

“Great look into how it sounds over the headsets in crunch time.”

“What level of access is this? This is one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen.”

“We need more access like this. To know how the coaches operate and communicate in crunch time is phenomenal.”

“Love hearing the communication between the coaches. Football is more than what we see on TV. It’s a complex game.”

Insights like this display the chess matches that go along with making the right calls at the right time, while also showing the respect coaches have of their players and the ability to create on the fly when things don’t go according to plan.

Hopefully, Notre Dame, and others across college football, continue producing this type of video content.
