When people talk about the best pure athletes in the world, they have to mention Novak Djokovic. The Serbian tennis player an all-time grand slam leader is truly one-of-one when it comes to athletic freaks around the world.

The 36-year-old is showing no signs of slowing down, either. He won three slams this year, the Australian Open, French Open, and US Open, and lost in the finals in a classic match to Carlos Alcaraz.

He’s now up to a whopping 24 grand slams, two ahead of Rafael Nadal and four ahead of Roger Federer. And, while he is definitely the least popular player of those three around the world, I think at this point most rational tennis fans would concede that Novak Djokovic is the best player to ever pick up a tennis racquet.

He’s such a complete athlete. His speed, reflexes, and length allow him to cover the court like maybe no one else ever has. And, he hits the ball incredibly clean, showing off unreal hand-eye coordination that I think is something that goes under the radar when it comes to top tennis players. And, his mental toughness and conditioning is as good as anyone’s, as well. I have no doubt that if Novak had decided to become a great basketball player or soccer player as a young age, he would’ve been a top pro in those sports as well.

So, it’s no surprise that Novak Djokovic has a pretty good golf swing, too. And, on Wednesday, while playing in an all-star match at the 2023 Ryder Cup at Marco Simone Golf and Country Club in Rome, Italy, a clip of Novak absolutely nuking a drive went viral. Take a look.

What a bomb. I don’t know if European athletes like to golf as much as American athletes do after they retire. But, I have no doubt that Novak Djokovic would turn into a low-handicap player very quickly.

The Ryder Cup gets underway on Friday. Team USA will need 14 points to retain the cup, while Team Europe will need 14.5 to win it.
