Novak Djokovic was beaten in the Wimbledon final by 20-year-old Carlos Acaraz on Sunday, and his racket bore the brunt of his frustration. During the stunning loss, the tennis star smashed his equipment on the court, breaking the racket in two.

That moment has now gone viral as viewers react to his defeat at the hands of his up-and-coming foe.

It was no surprise seeing Djokovic in the final at Wimbledon as the Serbian entered the tournament ranked No. 2 in the world. He’d previously won the event on seven separate occasions and was hoping to add one more notch to his belt over the weekend.

Unfortunately, the new No. 1 ranked player stood in his way.

Carlos Alcaraz entered the tournament as the world’s best player, and he showed viewers why on Sunday. After falling behind early in his final contest, the Spaniard roared back to complete a comeback.

After 90 minutes of back-and-forth, Alcaraz won the match in five sets.

During that thrilling match, Djokovic’s frustrations grew as he struggled to find answers for his opponent. At one point, he smashed his racket on the court, snapping the gear in half.

Fans were quick to react on social media.

One person wrote, “Djokovic acting like a child when he’s losing? In other words, it’s a day that ends in Y.”

Another said, “Poor sportsmanship,” after seeing the tirade.

This fan enjoyed the emotion, saying, “Pure reaction. Everybody does the same when losing or having trouble. It’s good you can see some real personality in sports and not just good robotic behavior.”

With the victory, Alcaraz won in his first appearance at Wimbledon while Novak Djokovic’s 34-win streak in the event came to an end.
