During the first half of Super Bowl LVI, Odell Beckham Jr. suffered a significant knee injury that is believe to be a torn ACL. Although the 29-year-old has not said much about the injury, he recently spoke out on Twitter and it was emotional.

Beckham suffered an injury to his left knee on a non-contact play with three minutes and 50 seconds left in the second quarter. After getting looked at in the locker room during halftime, he was ruled out of the game but eventually returned to the sideline and watched Los Angeles pull out the late victory.

It was the first Super Bowl win of Beckham’s career. He got a ring, and prior to his departure, played an integral role.

OBJ spoke about how everything went down after the game and was in good spirits.

Despite his positivity, the injury took an undeniable toll on the veteran wide receiver. It also took a toll on the players around him, both his teammates and opponents.

An NFL Films video shows the way that both teams reacted both on the field and on the sidelines. There is a lot of respect for Beckham across the league and both Rams and Bengals players were disappointed to see such a great player go down.

In turn, the injury also motivated the Los Angeles defense and the players around him to step up and make a difference.

After seeing the video for himself, Beckham Jr. had just one word to describe the injury.

He, like those around him, was heartbroken.

The timetable for Beckham Jr.’s return to football is unclear. However, based on the reaction of his teammates and opponents when he went down, his return to the field will be greatly welcomed.
