One week after Texas Longhorns fans successfully got a bad call against their team overturned by throwing trash on the field, Ohio State fans decided to try and follow suit.
Buckeyes linebacker Arvel Reese was ejected for targeting late in Saturday’s 21-17 victory over the Nebraska Cornhurns. But replays show Reese did not strike with the crown of his helmet or launch himself into the opponent.
And when fans saw those replays, they lost their minds.

Unlike Longhorns fans, Ohio State fans were not successful in getting the call overturned. But Ohio State did hold on for the victory after Nebraska quarterback Dylan Raiola threw an interception just moments later.
Texas faced significant scrutiny for its actions and even faced a potential ban on alcohol sales at future games.
But the worst punishment came via a disappointed Matthew McConaughey, who chided Longhorns fans in an open letter.
“Longhorn nation and specifically our DKR student section, M.O.C. McConaughey coming at you here,” the statement began.
“First off, you were electric Saturday night when we hosted Georgia. Bravo. Let’s continue to bring it. Even though our Horns didn’t get the W, you created a measurable home field advantage.
“But let’s get real about the bottle boming (SP) the field glitch we had. Not cool. Bogey move. Yeah, that call was BS, but we’re better than that. Longhorn Nation knows how to show up, show out like no other, and still keep our class.
“So, going forward let’s clean that kind of BS up and leave that behind us for good. We have to shake hands on that.
“Next up, November 9th, when the Gators come to town, let’s make sure they feel the heat, can’t hear the play calls, and burn their timeouts — but remember, nothing hits OUR field except that Texas fight.
“Til then, Root hard and Hook em. McConaughey.”
Ohio State doesn’t have a super fan quite like like McConaughey. But we’re sure LeBron James is already working on his strongly-worded level to Buckeyes fans.
