New Report Suggests Ohio State Hired Private Investigator To Look Into Michigan Sign Stealing

College football is an incredible sport for a number of reasons.

About 25 percent of those reasons have to do with what takes place on the field. The other 75 percent, however, is the chaos that happens away from the gridiron.

Take, for instance, a new report that suggests the Ohio State Buckeyes hired a private investigator to look into whether the rival Michigan Wolverines were stealing opponents’ signs.

The report comes from Chris Balas on On3 Sports and claims that Michigan is in possession of documents that could an alleged private investigator to Ohio State head coach Ryan Day.

“Reporters are working to put the pieces together, but we know Michigan is currently in possession of documents that could link one of the alleged investigators to Day’s younger brother, Timothy Day. Balas writes. “The other they suspect is linked to Day’s brother, Christopher, and was also a classmate of Tim Day’s in New Hampshire. One currently runs a private investigation firm in Manchester, N.H., Day’s hometown.

“In addition, other sources at Michigan allege some of the evidence — specifically, a spreadsheet provided to the Washington Post with analyst Connor Stalions’ travel plans and budget for his operation in which he allegedly paid people to video opposing teams’ signs — was obtained by gaining access to his computer illegally. Upon investigation, more sources indicated law enforcement has begun looking into the source of the information as a result.”

Thus far, no other reports have linked the Buckeyes to the investigation.

But it would certainly be a spicy turn of events.

Harbaugh and the Wolverines are 2-0 against Day and the Buckeyes since the alleged sign stealing began.

Until that point, he had gone 0-5 in games against the Buckeyes.

Was the sign stealing the difference? Whomst can say?
