Cross Canadian Ragweed outed Garth Brooks as a massive fraud at Oklahoma State this weekend. The legendary country music icon said that it would not be possible to play a concert at Boone Pickens Stadium.

He was very, very wrong. The Boys From Oklahoma sold out four-straight nights.

Brooks, one of the biggest stars in the history of country music, grew up in Oklahoma and graduated from Oklahoma State University with an advertising degree in 1984. Although the two-time Grammy Award-winner has played multiple concerts at his alma mater over the years, he has never played a show at the Cowboys’ football stadium and will never do so.

Brooks has played numerous stadium shows at LSU, Notre Dame, Tennessee, and Oregon, among others. Never Boone Pickens Stadium. It was not something he think could happen. It never made the cut for any of his tours.

In fact, Garth Brooks said in 2021 that it would be “impossible.”

Logistically, it’s not possible to play there. Would I want to play there? Hell yeah. That’d be like ordering two buffets at a pizza joint. There’s no better place to play.

To be fair, his comments were specifically focused on his own tour. His preferred setup for a stadium show would not translate to his alma mater.

The problem with Boone Pickens is it’s built exactly opposite for concerts. It’s not built for ho we play in the round stadiums. If we were front on, we’d be fine. But since we’re at 360, the stadium is built more in a ‘U’ and where the opening of the ‘U’ needs to be is exactly opposite of where it needs to be.

Sounds like a bunch of bologna to me. If Garth Brooks really wanted to play at Boone Pickens Stadium, he would make it happen. Jason Boland & The Stragglers, Turnpike Troubadours, Stoney LaRue, the Great Divide and Cross Canadian Ragweed did exactly that on Thursday and Friday nights. They will do so again on Saturday and Sunday.

The Boys From Oklahoma took over Boone Pickens Stadium for four sold-out shows. The setup could not work out much better if we’re being real. They were able to make the stage work, unlike Brooks.

Night one of the legendary reunion show went off without a hitch. Mike Gundy introduced Ragweed, who played right into their breakup with help from a Taylor Swift smash hit. It was a great success.

As was night two. Gundy was back out on stage to introduce the iconic Red Dirt band.

They played for more than two hours!

By all accounts, every single person at Boone Pickens Stadium was able to see the stage and hear the audio. And yet, Garth Brooks still says no way. That’s a giant loser move.
