A former Division II football player is accused of fabricating a completely fake NFL career in which he allegedly played for the Dallas Cowboys and Pittsburgh Steelers and won the Super Bowl with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
According to multiple reports, Uras Agee IV has used several now-deleted social media accounts to portray himself as an NFL player. While Agee has not been criminally charged, he does have a profile on a website where customers can pay $3,000 for appearance fees, $600 for brand ambassador arrangements, or $240 for a social media deal with him, based on a fake backstory.
The bio reads, “Uras Agee IV is a Tampa-based NFL athlete and creator with built-in credibility in American football, backed by real game-day relevance through the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He’s a strong fit for brands looking to reach sports fans with a polished, lifestyle-forward personality that naturally aligns with fashion, fitness, cars, gaming, and premium experiences.”
Under the heading “Why you should sponsor me for your next influencer campaign?” it reads, “Uras Agee is a professional football player on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.”
He posted several fake and misleading images and videos on social media
Chron.com reports that in 2023, Agee signed footballs at a fundraising event at Tampa’s Ryze Wellness & MedSpa. In the photo, he wore a Dallas Cowboys T-shirt. In a 2022 tweet, a Chattanooga, Tennessee, youth football coach thanked Agee for sharing “his story and words of wisdom.”
Additionally, Agee allegedly created several YouTube hype and offseason fitness videos featuring him working out, showing off pricey jewelry, and getting ready for the NFL season. Agee was also seen wearing Cowboys clothing in a social media post that claimed he had signed with rapper Jay-Z’s agency, Roc Nation.
According to official records, Agee played only Division II football at Shorter University, where he recorded no official stats, received no NFL Combine invites, and has never been mentioned in any NFL roster transaction.
A fake San Francisco 49ers player led to the discovery of Uras Agee IV
The Uras Agee IV has gained traction due to authorities recently charging a man named Daejon Love, who pretended to be a San Francisco 49ers wide receiver, with defrauding over two dozen women out of more than $1.3 million.
On Instagram, Love showcased himself as a wide receiver for the San Francisco 49ers. He claimed he was not selected in the NFL Draft, but eventually made the team as a free agent.
The Department of Justice reported that authorities arrested Love, 35, and his alleged accomplice, Taylor Jamie Chan, 18, at a Boise, Idaho, airport last week. According to a federal complaint filed in Portland, Oregon, prosecutors charged the two men with wire fraud and conspiracy to commit wire fraud.
