An Oklahoma State sideline reported is calling the Miami Hurricanes out for tampering with Cowboy football players. He went as far as to call the school the “most cheating institution in the NIL era.”

The transfer portal has effectively turned college football into the Wild, Wild West. Combine that with name, image, and likeness, and tampering has now become commonplace.

The sport’s landscape is currently unlike anything we’ve ever seen, with players coming and going as they please. In many cases, players will hop in the portal in the offseason simply to test the market.

In some instances, they’re looking for a bigger bag. In others, they already know where they’re going.

Bidding wars are running rampant, and unrestricted free agency is the new norm. According to Robert Allen, the Oklahoma State football program has been impacted in a major way.

The writer and reporter accused Miami of trying to lure away Cowboy stars Ollie Gordon and Nick Martin.

“I wouldn’t root for Miami if they were playing the Kremlin,” Allen exclaimed in a recent radio appearance. “That’s the most tampering, cheating institution out there in the NIL era.

“The hammered Nick Martin more than they hammered Ollie Gordon. Nick Martin was finally like, ‘Y’all quit calling me!’… Ollie Gordon got hit on. Nick Martin got hit on a lot more.”

Despite the supposed efforts to snatch those Oklahoma State football stars from Stillwater, both opted to stay with the program and suit up for the Cowboys next year.

That’s good news for head coach Mike Gundy as Ollie Gordon led the country in rushing last season (1,732 yds) while Nick Martin finished sixth in the nation in tackles (140).

Miami’s not the only major college football program to be accused of tampering of late. Alabama caught some flak last April for its alleged contact with Tyler Van Dyke, a Hurricane passer at the time.

Florida State was also called out by Travis Hunter, who said the ‘Noles called him before he hit the portal when leaving Jackson State. He ultimately signed with Colorado, following head coach Deion Sanders.

Heck, Nick Saban even admitted to tampering before leaving the sidelines with his recruitment of first-round pick Quinyon Mitchell.

This is the new norm in college sports. Miami is (allegedly) just the latest school to get caught!
