Kansas and Missouri are two of the biggest rivals in college hockey. If you don’t know, now you know!
A massive brawl broke out between the two sides after a one-goal game on Friday night.
Before we go any further here, it should be noted that neither the Jayhawks nor the Tigers compete on the Division-I level of college hockey. They both belong to the Mid-American Collegiate Hockey Association on the club level of the American Collegiate Hockey Association. They are both club teams.
Even though it is a slight step down in terms of competition, the games are met with the same level of intensity as their D-I counterparts, which that leads us to the 2025 Border Battle at BluHawk. Bad blood between the two schools spilled over onto the ice.
The University of Kansas and the University of Missouri are separated by less than 200 miles. They absolutely hate each other.

However, games between the border-state rivals have become few and far between since 2012 when the Tigers left the Jayhawks in the Big 12 for a move to the SEC. That is not the case for hockey. It is a standing rivalry game that typically gets played twice in a home-and-home series.
Kansas won the first of two games on Friday by a score of 4-3. Missouri tied it up at three with approximately six minutes remaining but the home team scored the eventual game-winner with two minutes left.
If that was not crazy enough, a massive bench-clearing brawl broke out as soon as the final horn cemented the result!

Every single player from both teams was involved in the melee. They were trading big blows all over the ice. Buckets were flying. Sticks were sprawled everywhere.
Needless to say, there is no love lost between Kansas and Missouri. It does not matter the sport. It does not matter the result. The Jayhawks and Tigers are going to war! The rematch is scheduled for April.
