Oklahoma and Oklahoma State do not like one another. The deep-rooted, in-state rivalry began in the early 1900s and the bad blood has not wavered since.
This year, the Cowboys topped the Sooners on the gridiron. On Saturday morning, the latter had a chance for revenge on the former on the hardwood.
The basketball version of Bedlam was held at the Gallagher-Iba Arena in Stillwater in front of a sold-out crowd. Although both teams are unranked, and both teams hover right around the .500-mark, they are both in the NCAA Tournament conversation depending on how the rest of the year plays out.
And, it’s Bedlam. The crowd at ‘The Madison Square Garden of the Plains,’ was rocking.
Upon arrival, they were met by a unique item. The Oklahoma State student newspaper had planted a troll on every seat in the building, mocking Oklahoma for losing head football coach Lincoln Riley to USC.
Here is the not-so-subtle paper:

The exceptionally petty seatback handout is everything that is great about college athletics and rivalries. Lincoln Riley had nothing to do with the basketball game and really nothing to do with the Cowboys. Nevertheless, they made sure to remind the Sooners that their head coach packed up and went West.

To make things even better for Oklahoma State, it beat Oklahoma by nine and moved to 11-11 on the season with the win. Both teams meet again in Norman on February 26th.
