The summer of Olivia Dunne is off to a wonderful start. The LSU Gymnast is quickly approaching A-list status and is entering mainstream American culture.
The 20-year-old was at one time a serious contender for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics as a member of the US Women’s Gymnastics Team, before injuries derailed her hopes. Still, her gymnastics career has been pretty successful, as Olivia Dunne was an All-American on the uneven bars for LSU in 2021 as a freshman. She’s battled shoulder injuries the past two season, but expects to be a big contributor for a 2024 Tigers team that has the potential to win the national championship after finishing 4th a year ago.
Like many top college athletes, she’s rolling in the dough in terms of NIL money. While only she knows how much money she is actually making, On3 gives her an NIL valuation of $3.4 million, second-most in all of college sports behind incoming USC guard Bronny James.
That’s because she has a gigantic social media following, with over 11 million combined followers on TikTok and Instagram. Her good looks and big following certainly helped her land her first appearance in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition in May.
Right now, she’s doing celebrating on the Italian coast on the island of Capri. And, with such beautiful scenery, why not post some viral instagram pictures? That’s exactly what Olivia Dunne did.
It flat-out did numbers. In 14 hours, it had well over half-a-million likes. That’s certifiably viral.
