Popular LSU gymnast Olivia Dunne announced on Thursday that she is will be appearing in the 2023 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue with a new reveal video and several photos.
“Thank you @SI_Swimsuit for making my dreams come true,” Livvy wrote on Twitter.
“Livvy Dunne, LSU gymnast, NCAA’s highest-earning female athlete, social media sensation and our newest SI Swimsuit 2023 model is officially joining the pages of this year’s issue!” SI Swimsuit wrote on Instagram announcing Dunne’s inclusion in the 2023 issue. “Livvy is an absolute inspiration for other female athletes around the world and we couldn’t be more excited to feature her.
“Livvy is harnessing this newfound power and turning it into a long-term, sustainable brand, growing the sport of collegiate gymnastics and setting an example for athletes of the future of what they are also capable of accomplishing outside of the competitive arena,” said SI Swimsuit editor-in-chief MJ Day. “In a world where women are constantly being forced to pick a lane, Livvy is in all of them, winning. We couldn’t be more excited to feature her on the pages of our 2023 issue.”
Apparently this all took place in January when Olivia Dunne traveled to Puerto Rico for with photographer Ben Watts.
In a related article, Livvy explained, “People need to understand that I work for everything I earn. I’ve spent years building an audience of over 11 million followers between Instagram and TikTok, and brands pay for the reach that my accounts get and the demographic that it caters to.”
Dunne added, “When I make content, I love to think about who might be watching it and what they’d like. People always comment stuff that they would never say to your face, so part of it is just having developed tough skin as well. Social media is hard. It’s a very hard place to be.”
