Every four years, the Summer Olympics produces household names and legends out of seemingly nowhere. But, these emerging stars are almost always athletes.
Enter “Bob the cap catcher”. This man has taken the by storm, going viral for performing a routine task in a speedo with his dad bod on full display for the hundreds of millions watching around the world.
American swimmer Emma Weber lost a swim cap in the pool at the La Defense Arena, home of the Olympic Swimming Pool at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris. Not to worry. “Bob the cap catcher” came to the rescue.

It’s not hard to see why he immediately went viral. Speedos for men are a lot more popular in Western Europe than they are in the USA, and he was incredibly confident doing his sacred duties.
At an Olympics full of great feats of athleticism, “Bob the cap catcher” really fit in.
