Former ESPN personality David Pollack has become the target of online hate following College GameDay’s hiring of Nick Saban. Alabama trolls have come out of the woodworks to bash the Georgia alum, believing he got what he asked for due to comments made at the 2022 national championship game.

Those comments involved both fanbases, and they came with Saban sitting in the seat right next to Pollack on set!

Let’s back up a bit to that title game broadcast. The former Bulldog was heard anointing UGA as college football’s premiere program in the midst of a blowout of TCU.

“Georgia as we’ve seen the last couple of seasons, they’ve taken ahold of college football,” Pollack said with Saban unenthusiastically sitting a seat over.

As it turns out, that would be one of Pollack’s last major appearances on an ESPN set.

The company relieved him of his College GameDay duties ahead of the 2023 season. Just a year later, the show opted to add Nick Saban to the set following his retirement announcement.

Many online believed it to be karma for Pollack, and they’ve quickly hit social media to troll.

Fittingly, Saban’s last win at Alabama came over Pollack’s Bulldogs in the SEC Championship, effectively knocking UGA out of the College Football Playoff and ending their run as two-time national champs.

Even the head coach’s daughter, Kristen, got in on the ribbing.

Pollack had some fun with the reactions, posting his own response to the online hate.

“This is really funny! Nicely done sir!” he replied to one troll in particular while reposting the initial jab on his timeline.

While Alabama fans will revel in the fact that Nick Saban seemingly took David Pollack’s job, many around college football were sad to see the former ‘Dawg get laid off.

We’ll see if Saban can provide the same energy and analysis on set next season.
