Trade rumors are really beginning to heat up between the Green Bay Packers and New York Jets.

After flying out to visit with Aaron Rodgers, all signs are pointing toward a possible trade coming to fruition.

However, many are pondering exactly what the Packers might receive in a trade if they end up dealing the superstar quarterback. Well, we might finally have that answer.

During an appearance on the Pat McAfee Show, Michael Lombardi details what he believes Green Bay is asking for in a trade.

Nothing has come to fruition just yet, however, the latest moves the Jets have made are noticeable. Perhaps Lombardi is correct in that New York is attempting to get under the cap to fit Aaron Rodgers’ salary.

Meanwhile, the Packers don’t seem to be asking for the moon either. A single first-round pick along with some extra compensation sounds like a solid deal for a quarterback-needy team. Especially when the player in question is Aaron Rodgers.

This type of trade would likely be beneficial to Green Bay. They’d receive some extra draft capital to hopefully build a contending roster.

If the plan is to have Jordan Love take over as the starter, then acquiring draft picks is essential for the building process.

The new league year begins on March 15. So any trade made won’t be official until then. With that said, keep a close eye on the Packers and Jets, as it sure feels like something is brewing.
