Is there a bigger star in the golf world today than Paige Sprianac?
Spiranac played college golf at San Diego State University where she led the Aztecs to their first ever Mountain West Conference championship.
She then made a brief run at a pro career before switching gears and becoming a model and social media influencer.
That decision has paid off in a huge way. Spiranac has a remarkable 3.7 million-plus followers on her Instagram account. For reference, that’s 500,000 followers more than Tiger Woods.
Spiranac recently spoke about her rise to fame in an interview with USA Today.
“There are so many talented golf creators out there, so you need to find ways to stand out,” she said. “Luckily, I feel that I was ahead of the curve and early to the golf content space before many others, so I was able to establish an incredible audience and fanbase over the past few years.”
As for where things go from here, she says that’s still in flux.
“It’s changed several times throughout my career and will probably continue to change as I grow and learn,” she said. “Right now my ultimate goal is to continue to be one of the leading voices in golf media while showing the world that golf can be fun and inclusive.
“It’s also important to me to break down the social construct surrounding women and their bodies. ”
But for the time being, Spiranac is a content machine for both PointsBet as well her own social media accounts, which includes her own subscription service, OnlyPaige.
On Friday, she went viral yet again on Instagram with some must-see pictures just in time for the NBA Finals.
“Gotta love NBA finals🏀 Nuggets take game 1! Who do you think will end up winning,” she asked in the caption.
The post quickly blew up with over 100,000 likes and 2,000 comments. And it’s easy to see why.
