It seems like the Panthers are simplifying things for their rookie quarterback Bryce Young, the first overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft.

NFL Insider Ian Rapoport says the team is cutting down on the verbiage and adds: “When you look at some of the other rookies, like (Colts) Anthony Richardson and (Texans) C.J. Stroud, they get to the line, snap the ball, and run the play.”

He added, “But with Bryce Young, it’s like he’s dealing with a whole lot of verbiage, protection schemes, and adjustments. It almost seems like it’s been too much for the young QB to handle.”

Young having additional things on his his plate may be affecting his performance, as Rapoport pointed out, “When you’re not sure about what’s happening in front of you, it tends to slow down your play and makes you appear slower on the field.”

Rapoport noted that while other rookie quarterbacks seem to be thriving immediately, the Panthers have decided to scale things back and let Young get down to business. It’s high time for the young quarterback to prove himself and show why he was the top pick in the draft.

With the Panthers sitting at 0-5, they’ll be facing the red-hot 4-1 Dolphins in Week 6.

The pressure is on for Bryce Young to step up and demonstrate why he was the first choice in the 2023 NFL Draft.
