Mahomes would go on to make a terrible decision on the Chiefs’ next drive when he ran backwards and got sacked for a 30-yard loss.

The sack broke an NFL record
The longest sack in NFL history was 29 yards. In 1972, Miami Dolphins QB Bob Griese was sacked for a 29 yard loss in Super Bowl VI by Dallas Cowboys DT Bob Lilly. Today the Miami Dolphins sacked Patrick Mahomes for a total of 30 yards by Jarome Baker!!! Wow @MiamiDolphins @NFL

That Mahomes sack is the longest in NFL history, at 30 yards. The previous long also involved the Dolphins, in Super Bowl VI, 29 yards by Dallas’ Bob Lilly against Bob Griese. https://t.co/ZncjNFPWJX
