Patrick Mahomes and his Chiefs struggled to get anything going against the Colts on Sunday night. Mahomes and his offense actually struggled to put points on the board, but the Mahomes magic did have an appearance on his lone touchdown pass of the night.

Kansas City faced a 3rd and 18 at the Colts 27 yard-line early in the second quarter and Indianapolis blew up the line forcing Mahomes to take off and scramble. He’s known for his accuracy while on the run, but this particular throw feels like an actual cheat code at life.

It’s incredible to see that as soon as he escaped the trouble albeit with a defender still chasing him, he keeps his eyes completely locked on his receivers while the sideline is gaining space on him as well before dropping a dime to Byron Pringle.

According to Next Gen Stats, Mahomes was running at a 15.6 mph clip when he let the pass fly which is good enough for the second-fastest speed on a TD pass this year.

*thinks to oneself if they can even run 8 mph*

The fact that no other quarterback in the NFL has more than 10 ‘on the run’ touchdown passes over the past two seasons and Mahomes has 15 to his name is a mind-blowing stat. Just by watching Mahomes week after week we know he’s one-of-a-kind, but that number backs that up to an entirely new level.

Earlier in the week, we witnessed Tyler Lockett pull off the most improbable catch of the last two seasons and on Sunday night we got Mahomes’ statistically insane touchdown pass. It was a good week for historically awesome plays around the NFL.
