Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce have become one of the NFL’s top pass catching duos over the last five seasons. On Sunday, they have an opportunity to cement their place in the record books.

The tag team can become the league’s all-time leading scoring connection with a big day in the Super Bowl. They currently sit just two touchdowns behind Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski for the most playoff scores ever.

Kelce and Mahomes have linked up for 13 career postseason touchdowns. That mark ranks second all-time, trailing only the 15 scores notched by Gronk and Brady.

The pair passed Joe Montana and Jerry Rice in their last playoff appearance, and with a successful night in their final game of the season, the top spot is within reach.

In fact, the duo has already recorded three touchdowns this playoff season. They also connected for multiple scores on three different occasions this year. In one instance, Kelce was on the receiving end of four Mahomes’ touchdown passes. It seems that he’s always open despite being the top focus of opposing defenses.

And many believe that the teammates will find the endzone at least once on Super Bowl Sunday.

According to betting expert John Ewing, Travis Kelce is the most bet player to score a touchdown. His odds of finding paydirt currently sit at -125.

Fans were quick to react to the news, posting responses on social media.

One person wrote, “Incoming Kelce 3 TD game.”

Another said, “Mahomes and Kelce best duo ever…. and it’s not close.”

Mahomes and Kelce will have a chance to make history on Sunday against the Eagles in what’s setting up to be a highly entertaining Super Bowl. The tag team will look to pull the upset this weekend and land their second ring in the last four campaigns.

As of the time of this writing, the Philadelphia Eagles are considered a 1.5-point favorite in Arizona.
