Patriots owner Robert Kraft apparently doesn’t agree with President Trump about his views on National Anthem protestors.
Back in September of 2017, Trump made a strong push for the NFL owners to fire “son of a bitch” players who knelt during the anthem.
…NFL attendance and ratings are WAY DOWN. Boring games yes, but many stay away because they love our country. League should back U.S.
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) September 24, 2017
Wouldn’t you love to see one of these NFL owners, when somebody disrespects our flag, to say, ‘Get that son of a bitch off the field right now. Out! He’s fired. He’s fired!’”
For a week, that owner be the most popular person in this country. Because that’s a total disrespect of our heritage. That’s a total disrespect for everything we stand for,
During the fallout of Trump’s speech that called out NFL owners, Kraft spoke to players at the NFL Summitt in October of 2017 and blasted Trump for being “divisive and horrible” in a leaked audio recording obtained by TMZ Sports.

I must tell you, I think these dialogues are great,” “But, the elephant in the room now in my opinion, is this kneeling, which every player has a right to do if they feel it’s right.”
“The problem we have is, we have a President that will use that as fodder to do his mission that I don’t feel is in the best interest of the matter. It’s divisive and it’s horrible. And, it’s actually the opposite of what you all are trying to do.”
We’ve lost the message to America because there’s 40 percent of the people who just see this as their own bigotry.
“I just hope one of the things that can come out of here is that we find a way to be unified. And, be able to carry through and follow through.”
Despite calling out Trump at the NFL summit in 2017 it seems like Kraft is still cool with Trump because he was in attendance at a White House sanctioned dinner in the Summer.

It’ll be interesting to see how Trump responds to Kraft’s recording when and if he hears about it.
