Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts sent a not-so-subtle message to fans, media members and teammates on Friday amid ongoing drama with star wideout AJ Brown. Brown recently complained about the team’s passing game and the issue got escalated with team captain Brandon Graham went on local radio and implied the two are no longer friends.
Graham later walked back his comments and Hurts and Brown insist that their relationship is good. But that didn’t stop Hurts from a sending a little message on Friday using Bobby Brown’s hit single “My Prerogative.”

Interesting song choice to start the day

“Everybody’s talking all this stuff about me (now). Why don’t they just let me live,” the song begins. “I don’t need permission, make my own decisions. That’s, that’s my prerogative.”
Message sent. Message received.
Now, who exactly Hurts was sending a message to is another valid question? Does he want media to quiet down? Does he think Brown needs to stop complaining? Either way, we should have a good idea in the coming weeks.
Philadelphia started the 2023 season 10-1 before collapsing down the stretch and losing in the NFC Wild Card round to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Part of the collapse included Brown expressing frustration with his lack of use in the offense and a widely publicized rift between he and head coach Nick Sirianni. The two appeared to be back on the same page this season. But now it seems Brown is again upset with his lack of touches.
Philadelphia is 11-2 and very much in play for the top seed in the NFC playoff. Is history repeating itself? Or is it much to do about nothing? We’ll learn a lot about that answer this Sunday when the Eagles host in-state rival Pittsburgh Steelers. The Steelers are 10-3 and currently hold a two-game lead over the Baltimore Ravens in the AFC North.
