College football fans will witness a first this bowl season. An edible mascot will be seen roaming the sidelines in Orlando.
It’s being reported that the winning team of the Pop Tarts Bowl will celebrate by devouring the mascot after the game. That’s led to a flood of questions on social media and sparked an online beef with another notable bowl game.
Nicole Auerbach of The Athletic broke the story on Monday, posting the never-before-seen news on X (Formerly Twitter).
Very important news: The @PopTartsBowl will have the first-ever edible mascot.

Many immediately began to react.
“I have questions.”
“Does this hurt the Pop Tart?”
“Probably not the only edible involved in this decision-making process.”
“Will there be a giant toaster?”
“Follow up Q… what flavor Pop Tart?”

While the announcement has raised intrigue amongst many football fans, it’s also sparked an online competition from other postseason games.

The Duke’s Mayo Bowl, famous for its mayonnaise bath given to the winner of the annual bowl matchup, was immediately called out by followers on social media. It’s since responded, as have fans.
“I’m so onboard for this ridiculous fight.”
“This is the proper way to market bowls.”
And the Duke’s Mayo Bowl might not be the only one upset with being beat to the punch. Looking at you, Cheez-It.
