The events surrounding the spectacle that is the Formula 1 Grand Prix of Las Vegas have begun, and well, there have been a few hiccups.
While the race organizers were worrying about what colors The Sphere was going to display during the weekend of racing, they weren’t paying close enough attention to the drain covers on the streets which mangled two of the top team’s cars.
That being said, the track is definitely amazing, made even more so by the fact that, as drone video around the track taken earlier this week, it is surrounded by nothing but neon.
Perhaps even more incredible to watch is new POV video of the full F1 Grand Prix of Las Vegas circuit taken from a camera mounted on the safety car as it makes a lap at speed.

Sadly, the Grand Prix of Las Vegas doesn’t actually begin until 12:55 a.m. ET on Sunday. Which means that unless you are an absolute diehard American Formula 1 fan, you won’t actually get to watch the race live, if at all.
Heck, even watching the practices and qualifying live is next to impossible (even when it isn’t shortened due to drain covers). Free practice #2 starts at 2:25 a.m. ET on Friday, while qualifying will occur from 2:55 a.m. to 4:00 a.m. ET on Saturday.
With Max Verstappen absolutely decimating the field this year, winning 17 of the 20 events so far, both the driver’s and the constructor’s championships have long since been decided.
That certainly makes it tough for the average race fan to want to completely adjust their sleep schedules in order to watch any of the Grand Prix live.
Thankfully, we all have social media to fill in a bunch of the blanks, including some of the absolutely sick helmets driving are wearing this weekend.
