Quinn Ewers is one of the highest-paid athletes in college football through NIL. He makes so much money that he was able to put his mother on his pay roll as a 21-year-old senior.

It is unclear as to what exactly that means, but she could get a pay raise if Texas wins the national championship!

Ewers, initially ranked as a five-star prospect in the recruiting Class of 2022, reclassified to the Class of 2021 as the No. 1 recruit in the country and enrolled at Ohio State. Financial opportunity was a big factor in his decision to leave high school early, if not the biggest factor. Name, Image and Likeness came to exist on July 1, 2021, which allowed him to make money as soon as he arrived to campus in Columbus.

He signed a deal worth $1.4 million just a few weeks after his 18th birthday and picked out a brand-new pickup truck shortly thereafter. That was more than three years ago.

Ewers has since transferred to Texas and led the Longhorns to the College Football Playoff semifinal. His NIL compensation has not wavered over that period of time. It has only increased.

In fact, there are rumors that an undisclosed program is offering him $6 million to transfer again. Only time will tell whether that is true and/or comes to fruition but it is a good indication of how much money exists in college football. Quinn Ewers is well compensated. And so is his mother!

Ewers keeps his mom, Kristen, on a retainer. He is able to give back to her for all she did for him.

According to Anne-Parker Coleman of KVUE News, Quinn joked that he is willing to negotiate a pay raise with Kristen if Texas wins the national championship. A bonus system is not currently in place.

It is unclear as to what exactly Quinn Ewers means by “salary.” Perhaps it is more like an allowance. Maybe she gets paid for her role as momager. Either way, there is enough money to go around!
