Toldeo cornerback Quinyon Mitchell may be the best player in the upcoming draft that you haven’t heard of. He’s rocketed up draft boards since the season as analysts have finally got a look at his really impressive film.

He built on that film with an incredible combine performance last week in Indianapolis. Take look at these incredible testing numbers.

Yeah, he’s an athlete. Mitchell only had one interception in 2023. But, ball-knowers know that interceptions don’t really tell the story of how good a cover corner someone is. If guys are blanketing wide receivers in man coverage, quarterbacks are likely to throw at someone else. Plus, he had 18 passes defended, which is a really impressive number. His five interceptions in 2022 should dispel concerns about his ball skills.

Mitchell was ranked as Mel Kiper Jr.’s fifth-ranked quarterback in the draft class prior to the combine. That came after a great performance at the Senior Bowl. He’s going to move up from that, and I think most think he’s a first-round lock now.

The one thing that Quinyon Mitchell didn’t do at the combine was the bench press. But, a viral video shows that Mitchell is incredibly strong, too!

No that is not the bench press, nor are the same muscles involved. But, it should show everyone that Quinyon Mitchell is not only lightning-fast with excellent hips and change of direction. He’s also incredibly strong, too.

The NFL Draft begins Thursday, April 25.
