The Las Vegas Raiders have been under the watchful eye of many fans across the league after they released Derek Carr from the roster.
Rumors have connected the franchise with Jimmy Garoppolo over recent weeks and now, it sounds like they’re bringing in the veteran quarterback.
According to Mike Garafolo, the Raiders are signing Garoppolo to be their new starting quarterback.

However, many fans are pointing out that the franchise was wanting to acquire an upgrade to Derek Carr. After signing Jimmy Garoppolo, everybody is kind of pointing out the obvious.

They’re basically the same guy, as both Carr and Garoppolo are in that good but not great range of quarterbacks in the NFL.

At the same time, signing Jimmy Garoppolo doesn’t completely shut the door on Las Vegas drafting a quarterback in April.
If anything, this sets the Raiders up perfectly to select a rookie to sit and learn for a year or two behind Garoppolo until he’s ready.
So, although Jimmy Garoppolo technically isn’t an upgrade over Derek Carr, the front office could still be monitoring the quarterback position for the NFL Draft.
