The Los Angeles Rams are going through some weird times right now as the front office is making big changes to the roster.

It’s unknown how they’ll fair next season. However, head coach Sean McVay seems incredibly optimistic about Matthew Stafford‘s return.

So much so, that McVay seems very positive about Stafford returning to the Rams, despite the rocky offseason the franchise is experiencing.

According to Kevin Patra, the Rams head coach believes Stafford will get back in the swing of things in no time. Especially with the quarterback already throwing the ball on his own.

“I think just the competitor that he is. He loves the game. He loves to be able to go play. He loves to go compete. I think when you look at some of the things that he had to navigate through last year, he’s motivated to come back and respond and lead.”

McVay continues by stating, “That’s what he’s done for such a long period of time. He certainly elevates everybody that he’s around. I think this is the first offseason in a long time that he’s actually feeling good.”

Being banged up isn’t new for Matthew Stafford. He definitely went through his fair share of injuries during his time with the Detroit Lions.

So, it’s not crazy to think he can return to the Rams and play at a high level sooner, rather than later.

Regardless, LA has lost a bit more than they’ve gained this offseason. The NFL Draft will be a key moment for this franchise though. The Rams will be able to acquire some solid young talent that’s desperately needed.

Look for the Rams to continue monitoring Matthew Stafford throughout the offseason. The hope is that he’ll return before the start of the new campaign in September.
