Los Angeles Rams, star wide receiver Cooper Kupp has been ruled out for the upcoming Week 1 clash against the Seattle Seahawks.

Rams coach Sean McVay spoke on it during a press conference on Wednesday, adding that Kupp might go on injured reserve, which would keep him off the field for a minimum of four games.

Kupp has been nursing a hamstring injury and will be sidelined for the highly anticipated 2023 season opener.

McVay expressed empathy for Kupp’s frustration, as the talented receiver is eager to rejoin his teammates on the gridiron.

“It’s been unfortunate. It’s been frustrating,” McVay commented. “But I do think he’s done an excellent job being able to control what he can control. I think the biggest thing is let’s implement a plan, let’s hopefully start feeling back to normal and being able to slowly and steadily progress him back. But it’s been a really unique situation, to say the least.”

In Kupp’s absence, the Rams will look to a combination of wide receivers, including Van Jefferson, Tutu Atwell, rookie Puka Nacua, and veterans Demarcus Robinson and Ben Skowronek, to step up and fill the void.

The unfortunate news is a blow to fantasy football fans as well, who may have already drafted Cooper Kupp.
