Rasheed Wallace Fires Off Absurd Michael Jordan Take Claiming That He Didn’t Play Defense

Just last week, former NBA star Rasheed Wallace went viral thanks to a bizarre take about Michael Jordan.

“He was a phenomenal player then,” Wallace said on his Sheed X Tyler show, referring to Michael Jordan when he was on the Bulls, “but I think he was a little more dangerous when he was with the Wizards.”

Of course, nobody with a brain actually believes that to be true. But it turns out Wallace’s MJ takes didn’t stop there. He went on to talk about Jordan’s defense, which he believes was highly overrated.

“Mike wasn’t all that good of a defender,” Wallace claimed on a new episode of the show.

At that point, his co-host pointed out that Jordan made 10 all-defense teams while in the NBA.

“All that NBA s—. We like Mike, we’re gonna put him up there,” Wallace replied. “I’m talking about being out there. I’ve seen this m—– f—– get his a– bust when he couldn’t stop a m—– f—– against JR Rider, probably against Clyde Drexler. S—, don’t forget the early Joe Dumars.

“And I’m not saying that he didn’t play defense. I’m just saying that his defense wasn’t as high as most other cats at that time. I couldn’t put him on like 10 or 11 consecutive first-team all-defensive joints.”

Now, Wallace does make one very good point. NBA Awards tend to have a lot to do with reputation. Especially at a time in the 90s where it’s not like voters could routinely watch players across the country every night.

But if you ask anybody who played against Jordan, they’ll tell you what a great defender he was when he was locked in. To claim otherwise is just ignorance, whether intentional or not.

But hey, when you’ve got a podcast and need to draw listeners, sometimes you say things you know are ridiculous.
