Michael Jordan in the NBA GOAT. We can all agree about that, right? Okay, okay. That’s probably a stretch. But something we probably can all agree about is that Rasheed Wallace’s recent take on His Airness makes absolutely no sense.

First though, let’s lay out some indisputable facts about Michael Jordan.

During his 13 seasons with the Chicago Bulls, Michael Jordan averaged 31.5 points, 6.3 rebounds, 5.4 assists, and 2.5 steals per game. He also won six NBA championships, six NBA Finals MVP awards, and five NBA MVP awards.

During his two seasons with the Washington Wizards, MJ averaged 21.2 points, 5.9 rebounds, 4.4 assists, and 1.5 steals per game. Still very good numbers, but not the kind that gets you a 10-part documentary series. (Oh, and he won zero NBA championships, NBA Finals MVP awards, and/or NBA MVP awards while with the Wizards.)

Now then, taking all of that into consideration, Chicago Bulls Michael Jordan was most certainly better than the Washington Wizrds version, right?

Not according to Rasheed Wallace. Yes, that Rasheed Wallace. The one that played 16 seasons in the NBA.

“He was a phenomenal player then,” Wallace said recently on his Sheed X Tyler show, referring to Michael Jordan when he was on the Bulls, “but I think he was a little more dangerous when he was with the Wizards.”

Just gonna leave this here. Please continue, Rasheed.

“He didn’t have the athleticism that we were used to seeing MJ have,” Wallace continued. “His angles were a little bit more sharp, he wasn’t going to move but he was a strong two-guard, he wasn’t just going to move up lightly. His shot became more dangerous, he became more solid as that veteran player when his years in Washington.”

On the plus side for Rasheed Wallace, at least he didn’t claim that no NBA players in the 1990s had skill other than Jordan.
