In a move to add depth ahead of the upcoming Training Camp, the Baltimore Ravens have bolstered their backfield by signing former Chargers’ first-round pick, Running Back Melvin Gordon.

The deal, reported by ESPN’s Adam Schefter, is for one year and is worth up to $3.1 million.

Gordon’s addition to the Ravens’ roster adds depth and experience to their already formidable backfield, which includes J.K. Dobbins, Gus Edwards, and Justice Hill.

With his track record of success in the NFL, Gordon is expected to complement the existing talent and provide valuable support to the team’s offense.

The 30-year-old running back was initially selected in the 1st round by the Chargers out of Wisconsin in the 2015 NFL Draft.

In 2020, Gordon signed a two-year, $16 million deal with the Denver Broncos. Denver ultimately decided to waive him during the course of the 2022 season, leading him to finish the year with the Kansas City Chiefs.

Gordon has 6,462 rushing yards in his career and scored 55 touchdowns. He also added 309 catches for 2,467 yards and 14 more scores.

The Ravens’ decision to sign Melvin Gordon indicates their ambition to strengthen their offensive depth for the upcoming season.
