It’s official. BASEBALL IS BACK!

On Thursday, the MLB Players’ Association came to terms with the league’s owners regarding the most recent Collective Bargaining agreement. The deal officially ends the 99-day lockout, which caused the season to be postponed.

The MLB will be able to salvage a full, 162-game slate. That schedule will need to be adjusted a bit with Opening Day ceremonies now being pushed to April 7th, but the news of an agreement means fans can enjoy an entire season of action.

The Spring Training session could begin as early as this Friday, with players having the option to return to facilities tomorrow. The mandatory date to return will be Sunday.

This year’s stoppage had been the second-longest in the sport’s history, falling short of 1994’s 232-day lockout. Now that the wait is over, coaches, players, and fans can finally focus on the return to the diamond.

Players and Fans React To The Return Of Major League Baseball

Fans are ecstatic that they’ll be able to watch their favorite teams play this summer. The reaction on social media was one of overwhelming joy as viewers get set to tune in for the Opening Day festivities.

The players were just as happy to end the lockout as they’ve been eager to return to the ballpark. There was a collective exhale from the league, even if we have to wait an extra week for the season to begin.
