Jameson Williams hauled in a 41-yard touchdown pass on Sunday in the Lions’ victory over the division rival Vikings. The TD was the rookie’s first career catch, and it’s got Detroit fans jumping for joy.

Williams has had a long trek back to the football field as he recovered from an injury suffered in his final college game. The Alabama wideout tore his ACL in the national championship game versus Georgia, which would put his NFL career on hold.

Despite the setback, Detroit selected the pass catcher with their first-round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft. Now, he’s showing the world why.

Jameson Williams made his return to lineup last week against the Dolphins, but he failed to record any stats and played just 11 snaps. On Sunday, he saw an uptick in production as the Lions continue to ease him back into the rotation.

In the first quarter of action, he hauled in a long touchdown pass to put his team up 7-0. The 41-yard score came on Williams’ first catch as a pro.

On the play, he blew by the Minnesota defense, showing off that speed that attracted the team to the receiver. After crossing the goal line, Williams turned to the Detroit crowd to celebrate with his supporters.

Many of those supporters quickly posted reactions to the catch online.

One person said, “Jameson Williams had to slow down soooo much for that catch. Man is gonna be DANGEROUS!” Another commented, “So amazing and so happy for the kid. So good man!”

Mark this down under “Things we love to see.”

The catch helped the Lions pull off a 34-23 victory, while also covering the surprising spread, as they moved to 6-7 on the season. Williams’ involvement in the offensive gameplan should only increase as the season goes on.
