MLB fans are trolling Marlins infielder Jean Segura for his actions on Monday. Segura was seen flipping his bat after a bloop single with his team down by eight runs.
Viewers took a moment to post their reactions to the scene on social media after the game.
Now, this isn’t the most egregious bat flip we’ve seen this season – that would go to Boston’s Reese McGuire, who was spotted celebrating a long foul ball in a loss to Pittsburgh.
But this one comes close.
The Marlins were being no-hit by Braves ace Spencer Strider, on his grandmom’s 90th birthday no less.

Segura stepped up to the plate with his team trailing 8-0 in the top of the eighth frame. He’d previously lined out and grounded out in his first two at-bats.
With his team hitless through seven innings, the infielder was able to break the no-no bid by slapping a blooper into left field. In what was most likely a feeling of relief as opposed to celebration, he then flipped his bat as he ran down the first base line.

Fans online were quick to post reactions on social media. Most trolled Segura for the bat flip.
One person wrote, “That’s lame lol they’re getting crushed.”
Someone else said, “Down 8-0 bat flipping a bloop lmao.”
This fan commented, “He thinks he just won the World Series on a walk off.”
When all was said and done, Segura would be stranded on the basepaths. Atlanta beat their division rival, 11-0, with the Braves pitching staff allowing just two hits and striking out 14 batters.
