- The NBAer played a star role in Adam Sandler’s movie “Hustle”
- Fans are reacting to the news on social media
Juancho Hernangomez was waived by the Utah Jazz earlier this week.
The forward averaged 3.3 points a night with the Jazz, adding in 2.5 rebounds and 0.5 assists. Hernangomez played in mainly a reserve role for a Utah team that reached the first round of the Western Conference playoffs.
He was also a star on the big screen, appearing in Adam Sandler’s Hustle, which was released on Netflix earlier this year. The film saw a number of NBA players, including Anthony Edwards, but Hernangomez played the star role.
The movie focuses on a European player trying to make his way up the NBA ranks. Sandler acts as Hernangomez’s agent in the movie, with the Spaniard being his last hope.
Of course, when the news came out that Hernangomez was being waived in real life, fans referenced the film in their immediate reaction.

Juancho Hernangomez (not Bo Cruz) will look for a new home now that he’s been waived. Hopefully he finds a spot in the NBA for the upcoming season.
