Manny Ramirez’s son, Lucas, is going viral online after a recent walk-off home run. In fact, one MLB insider went as far as to call him the second coming of Juan Soto.

Watching his swing, he might have a point. The lefty looks identical to the Major League superstar at the dish.

Ramirez is trending on social media after smacking a game-winning home run in a recent contest.

Most baseball fans are familiar with the Ramirez name due to his father’s All-Star career in Cleveland and Boston. Manny was a .312 hitter over his 19-year MLB tenure. A member of the 500-home run club, he’s remembered for being one of the most feared bats of his era, though many of his outfield blunders were memorable, too.

Lucas is looking to follow in those footsteps.

The high schooler is one of the most talented prospects in the class of 2024. Projected as a top player in the cycle, he announced his commitment to the Tennessee Volunteers back in January.

If he does indeed head to Knoxville, it appears the Vols could be getting a superstar in the making.

His most recent performance already has scouts and media salivating. He’s drawing comparisons to MLB stars with a solid stroke and undeniable power.

A number of notable social media accounts chimed in on the sweet swing online.

Jomboy’s Talkin’ Baseball account wrote, “Manny Ramirez’s son Lucas looks like he’s going to be a problem.”

Barstool Baseball said, “Lucas Ramirez is going to be a nightmare for opposing pitchers.”

Baseball insider Hector Gomez was reminded of San Diego Padres slugger Juan Soto, calling him Soto 2.0.

The Perfect Game baseball site has the outfielder/first baseman from Weston, Florida graded as a nine of out ten on their prospect scale.

“Big and strong athletic build with some projection remaining,” his recruiting profile reads. “Left-handed hitter, hits from a spread stance with a big pull back load, gets his hips turned to start his swing, lifting swing with very good bat speed, plus raw power, ball comes off the barrel hard, has hitterish actions in the box.

“Left field/first base actions and athleticism on defense, has good footwork and takes good routes in the outfield, loose and easy arm action. Bat is his tool, and it has a chance to be a good one.”

We’ll see if he can make a Soto-like impact at his next baseball stop.
