The Brutal ‘Conquer The Castle’ Obstacle Race Is Inspired By Savage Medieval Battles With Fire And Archery

Up to this point in life, I’ve never had any interest in doing an obstacle race. The idea of crawling through the mud and getting shocked with exposed wires just to say I completed the course doesn’t appeal to me.

In the team races, you’re only as strong as your weakest link. The idea of getting held back/slowed down in something I already didn’t want to do in the first place has stopped me from ever signing up anytime a friend asks if I want to join their team. And it’s surprising how often I get asked to compete in obstacle races with friends, it probably happens a few times a year, every year. I’ve even been approached by brands who wanted to pay me (representing BroBible) to do it and I had zero interest….until now.

The Red Bull Conquer the Castle is held at Denmark’s Rosenholm Castle and it draws inspiration from medieval battles. The savagery of the event is what’s piqued my interest. Obstacles include fire, an archery challenge, slugging logs through mud, hauling through the muddy equivalent of quicksand, and other obstacles that a medieval warrior might’ve experienced on the battlefield.

Check it out with some more details on the event + how to sign up for the 2020 Red Bull Conquer the Castle event below this clip:

The 2020 Red Bull Conquer The Castle obstacle race will be held on August 8th and 9th at the Rosenholm Castle in Denmark. The course measures 4,000 meters long which is just a hair under 2.5 miles. All things considered, that’s a pretty short race to fly all the way to Denmark for but there are a million reasons to visit Denmark and this is as good of a reason as any to book the flight.
