Previously one of the best defensive minds of his era, former New York Jets and Buffalo Bills head coach Rex Ryan is now one of the best NFL analysts of his era.

Utilizing the same boisterous charisma and humor that made him such a beloved coach during his days with the Bills, Jets, and Baltimore Ravens, Rex Ryan has become one of ESPN’s premier NFL analysts, appearing on both Sunday Morning NFL Countdown and the Monday morning episodes of First Take.

The 60-year-old Ryan has a bit of Charles Barkley in him in the sense that he’s willing to say things most would never dare mention on national television.

Case in point: Ryan shouting out his famed foot fetish while analyzing the offside call against wide receiver Kadarius Toney in the Kansas City Chiefs loss to the Buffalo Bills.

“And this guy right here [Toney]: line the heck up. I’m sorry, he should be onside. You know I like toes. I don’t like this toe. Come on! Line up on-freaking-side,” Ryan said.

“Kadarius Toney, if you turn Rex against feet, you’re a bad man,” Clark chimed in.

Both Clark and Ryan were in agreement that the officials made the right call and that the fault rested solely on Toney’s shoulders.

During the 4th quarter of the key AFC matchup between the Chiefs and Bills, Toney caught what should have been a lead-taking touchdown with about 1:15 left to play following an incredible improvised lateral from future Hall of Fame tight end Travis Kelce.

However, Toney — who caught the lateral from Kelce and scored on the play — was flagged for offside, thus negating the score and ultimately leading to the Chiefs losing by a score of 20-17.

Following the game, the Chiefs record dropped to 8-5, while the Bills got a much-needed win to improve to 7-6 and stay competitive in the AFC Wild Card race.
